Ahh, the age old question. In a nutshell, I’m creative. When it comes to graphic design and branding, I don’t just create things just to look great, which they do, but I also work with you to make sure that what I’m creating works to further your marketing efforts and strategy as well. I want what I create for you to move the needle.
I have a degree in graphic design and have racked up 14 years of experience in the industry so far. Two of those years have been at an advertising agency where I worked both as a graphic designer and as production manager. For ten years, I’d worked in-house for a high end grocery chain where I worked closely with the marketing manager to design ads, develop in-store signage (printed and digital), create internal forms, and a variety of other items needed to sell our products. Most recently I’ve worked at Harbor Freight Tools working closely with category management on visual strategy for product launches and to help better tell the story of higher quality tools and dispel an outdated stereotype surrounding the company.
On the side I’ve worked on a number of other projects, such as marketing myself as a professional close-up magician, writing columns for a magic magazine, attracting crowds to trade show exhibits, and produced a few podcasts. One of my favorite projects, Go Mouse Scouts, has allowed me to create and market a brand from scratch, developing the visual identity and producing various marketing pieces across all media, including web, print, ebooks, and a podcast.
I suppose you could call me a Renaissance Man but really, I love to learn new things, be creative, and have a passion for it…especially when it works together with marketing.
